Yesterday I had the pleasure of being shown round one of Yorkshire’s newest wedding venues The Normans farm which opened its doors at the beginning of March. Upon arrival I could just tell that this place was going to be magical.
I was welcomed by Oliver and Laura Robinson who own the barn and who have held their own wedding here (and many family weddings) so they know a thing or two about throwing a great party at this venue. They have spent the past year renovating the space to transform it so that couple can celebrate their big day here.
This rustic farm allows couple wanting to get married here plenty of options for space and there are different areas available depending on the couples preference. This extra space means that there is lots of opportunities for wedding photographs and ‘plan B’ options in case the weather turns bad.
The large open space courtyard with its water fountain and seating area would be perfect for welcoming guests to the reception sipping champagne in the sunshine.
The 18th century barn itself looked effortlessly rustic and can comfortably sit up to 120. The barn will have its licence to hold civil ceremonies from April 2016. The barn is equipped with comfortable lighting and heating options so that weddings can take place here all year round (Oliver & Laura got married here in December).
There is an all weather integrated marquee that is the perfect space to hold the evening reception. This large open area includes a two tiered atrium roof which allows for more space so you can fit in a bar, tables and chairs, band/DJ stage and a large dance floor.
The Cow shed is a great snug space for intimate drinks and a perfect seating location for guests to chill out during the day.
Laura and Oliver have thought about what the venue would be like for all seasons and the space can be easily transformed to suit the time of year with lots of lighting options along with seasonal flowers in the courtyard. For more information about this spectacular wedding venue take a look at their website The Normans.
